Vacancy: 2 Organic Polymer Chemists, PhD (m/f). Company: Multinational technology company serving customers and communities with innovative products and services. Department: Belgium Laboratories.Reporting to/hierarchy: For the PSA (Pressure Sensitive Adhesives) department: Head of Laboratory. For the FE (fluoro-elastomers) department: Technical Manager.Function details: 1)For the PSA department: this R&D chemist will help develop new Pressure Sensitive Adhesives for the industrial and medical tape applications. For the FE department: this R&D scientist will help broaden Fluoro-elastomer business by modifying the fluoro-elastomer itself or by developing additives and curatives for the fluoro-elastomer applications. Expectations for this role include: Add complementary chemical knowledge to the current organization. Personal skills: Ability to clearly communicate his/her views. Ability to energize others and eventually grow to a senior, go-to person for less experienced engineers. Ability to find his/her way in complex situations. Demonstrate and maintain excellent knowledge of new developments, new applications & new (improved) processes in his/her domain Work well both independently and in (multicultural) project teams. Become a recognized specialist in his/her domain. Ability to co-operate with the different corporate internal Business Units (PSA department) and co-operate with and liaise between external departments. Give expertise support to colleagues and be able to sell ideas (for new applications and processes) and his/her vision to management. Young intellectual high potential with strong project manager potential.Mobility/travel: < 5% traveling (Germany or USA). Job specificities: Full-time. Permanent employment.
